Wow!!

Here are a few pictures of the hail that was in our yard after the storms on Saturday. We were very lucky that we didn't have any damage and no tornadoes...

This is our backyard -- in Jackson's pen!

Backyard -- looking out the kitchen window!!

A few of Jay's "prize" hail stones...

And of course I can't let you visit without showing off my babies...

BEAUTIFUL CHRISTIAN SISTER

by Maya Angelou

'A woman's heart should be so hidden in Christ
that a man should have to seek Him first to find her.
'When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not shouting 'I'm clean livin''
I'm whispering 'I was lost, Now I' m found and forgiven.
'When I say... 'I am a Christian' I don't speak of this with pride.
I'm confessing that I stumble and need Christ to be my guide.
When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not trying to be strong.
I'm professing that I'm weak and need His strength to carry on.
When I say.. 'I am a Christian' I'm not bragging of success.
I'm admitting I have failed and need God to clean my mess.
When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not claiming to be perfect,
My flaws are far too visible, but God believes I am worth it.
When I say... 'I am a Christian' I still feel the sting of pain...
I have my share of heartaches, so I call upon His name.
When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not holier than thou,
I'm just a simple sinner Who received God's good grace, somehow!'
I received this by email this week from Jodi and it just really touched my heart. Often times we are boasting and bragging and trying to be strong when we announce that we are Christians and this really gave me a new perspective. I hope you enjoy it and that it touches your heart.

Prayer Request Update!

I wanted to give you all an update on the prayer request that I mentioned below. I got word late Thursday that my pastor and his family will be laying their sweet 3 month old granddaughter to rest on Monday (2/25). Please remember this family. They still have no cause of death for this sweet baby girl. She attended a home daycare and was put down for her afternoon nap on Wednesday and “slept” longer that usual and when the care taker went to check on her she wasn’t breathing and she never regained consciousness. The family won’t likely have any answers from the autopsy for several weeks.

Thank you for your prayers of this sweet family. This incident has really made me think about how quickly life can be taken from us and that we should like everyday like it’s out last.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

Prayer Request

Hello Bloggy Friends ~ I have a prayer request to share with you. We, my church family, received news this afternoon that our pastor's (BT) granddaughter passed away. She was only 3 months old. I don't have details other than that they took her to the ER in respiratory destress and she soon passed away. Please remember the Rush family. My pastor's son and daughter-in-law and the baby live in Texas and BT and his wife had only seen the baby once and that was the week of Thanksgiving, she was only about 2 weeks old then. I'm sorry the details are a little sketchy, but I don't want to plaster their names all over the internet, but I would like your help in sending up prayers for them.

Thanks bloggy gang! I'll update you as I get the details.

Good Night.

A Memory Verse and A Budget!

"The way of a fool is right in his own eye, but a wise man is he who listens to counsel."
Probverbs 12:15
Several weeks ago I mentioned that I would be taking a Crown Financial class through my church, but bloggy friends, I had no idea what I was in for. I really should get some type of degree out of this class. Let me fill you in, if you've taken the class you can give me a big ole AMEN. Each week there is a memory verse ~ great, how hard could it be to remember and recite a Bible verse each week. OH, did I mention that this is a 10 week course and that each week you have to re-recite the verses from the previous weeks... People I only have SO much brain space. So, I'm on week #4. No really sure how in the heck I'm going to remember ALL 10!!! And if that's not bad enough, for the last couple of weeks we've been tracking EVERY penny that we spend, do you know how hard that is and also, how realistic it makes wasting money. Ugh, it's been a real reality check for me. Then last week to add insult to injury we had to write out ALL of our debt and a re-payment plan. Talk about another SLAP in the FACE. So, needless to say God had really been working on me the past few weeks about being a good steward, which it's become VERY VERY obvious that I'm NOT. So, please pray for me over the next couple of weeks as be begin to work on a budget and face the ugly facts of how we'll get out of debt and stay out of debt. And all joking aside I really do recomend this class to anyone who doesn't have a budget or who wants to know what the Bible says about money and our use of it. If your church doesn't offer a Crown ministry, my friend Jodi is a certified counselor for Crown and I'm sure she'd be willing to help you.
